As sweet as gravity
Video-Installation (00:20:45) 2024, Braunschweig
“As Sweet As Gravity” explores queer intimacy and vulnerability in an increasingly isolating world. How do systems of oppression and capitalism shape even our closest relationships? Maybe we need to break the laws of physics to truly relate to each other. This journey takes you from the depths of a werewolf’s mouth to the edges of space, where there’s no up or down.
The installation investigates the ceiling as a horizontal projection surface, encouraging viewers to lie down and look up, while simultaneously experiencing the narrative from a bird’s-eye view. By reframing common visual geometries, the work mirrors the eerie feeling of being lost in space. In this piece, a werewolf visits the dentist—only to discover a black hole inside his mouth that sucks them both into an intergalactic meeting. How do we connect— trough care, conflict, and mutual support? Which structures feel natural but are actually flexible and rewriteable? Can we reshape our reality, even space and time, by connecting to each other?
